Oct. 24 is World Polio Day. Throughout that week, Douglas Hutchman, Interact Club Sponsor with Asheville Breakfast Rotary, is helping to host a Purple Pinkie event at AB Tech. With every donation of $1, volunteers will “paint” pinkies purple to symbolize the immunizations those donations will provide. Funds raised will go toward Rotary International’s End Polio Now efforts. In addition, the Gates Foundation will match every dollar raised two to one.
