The Evolution of Leadership
The old hierarchical models of leadership are breaking down without better alternatives ready to take their place. Leaders are leaving their professions due to stress, burnout, and lack of trust. The stress comes from multiple directions leaving leaders caught between competing demands in a 24/7 work environment. Too often, leaders find themselves in crisis mode, putting out fires instead of leading. The isolation and personal cost that they endure is driving them to leave. Meanwhile, people observe and wonder why anyone would want such a job.
