Stephan Ihde

Positively Asheville Welcomes Stephan Ihde, Edward Jones Financial Advisor

When I moved to Asheville twelve years ago from being on the faculty at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, I wanted to bring my family to a place with clean air, clean water and endless hiking trails. Thankfully, we have that here! And that same passion carries into my mission as an Edward Jones financial advisor, helping people who wish to do so choose investments that are socially conscious and beneficial for the environment. I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, and I enjoy helping families with highly complex financial needs.

In our office, we use an established process to identify and build a personalized strategy to help you and your family achieve your financial goals and navigate the important financial questions of life. My office team of Teri Church, Tarah Smith and I value working together in partnership and listening to what’s important to you, and we’re excited to meet you and learn about the ways that we can best partner together!

As a graduate of Leadership Asheville (Class LA 38), I enjoy being active in the community. My amazing wife, Kristie, my daughter, Zoe, and I are often out hiking and exploring our beautiful Western North Carolina terrain. We also make it a point to eat local, fresh, organic fruits and vegetables and maintain as clean a diet as we can possibly find. And you may just bump into me out on the Blue Ridge Parkway or on some ridgetop, taking photographs of nature’s astounding wonders with my camera and tripod, as I consider photography to be one of my passionate hobbies.

On a personal note, in November of 2020, my oldest daughter, Liana Joy, who was 12 at the time, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. We sought every available treatment for her, and she went into remission in May of 2021, but her cancer returned two months later, and she passed away in our backyard on December 16, 2021. We continue to grieve her loss, but we have also pointed our family compass toward helping other families who have lost a child to cancer navigate the wilds of grief and sorrow in hopes of them bringing forth joy and new purpose to their lives.
